I honestly thought that I would make it through this whole pandemic without getting COVID-19. That is, until I received the fateful phone call letting me know that I had been expsosed to someone who has tested positive when I was at work. My heart dropped, as I had been around my family, best friend, and boyfriend in the 3 days since I had been exposed. After receiving that call, I immediately called my mom then booked a test before starting my quarantine. It’s not even been a week since I tested positive but let me tell you, isolation is not fun.

Fortunately, my mom and dad tested negative, however my brother, best friend and boyfriend all tested positive along with me. Their families have also since tested negative, but this is by no means ideal. I’m not really sure what to even do with this information. I still haven’t fully wrapped my head around the fact that I contracted it. I will keep you guys updated on what I do in my quarantine, as I have big plans of doing lots of homework and maybe even doing a paint byy numbers.

One of the worst parts of this for me personally is not being able to go to the gym. It sounds silly but the gym is a huge part of keeping not only my body physically healthy, but also has a huge effect on my mental health. I’m definitely missing it already and we’re not even allowed to go outside so walks are out of the picture. I have decided to quarantine at my family’s cabin in Osoyoos, but I forgot a few key foods in my manic packing so thats another issue that I’ve been working through. Imagine lasting two weeks without eggs, or coffee? Kind of a nightmare if you ask me. I can’t wait to get out of this quarantine and hit the Starbucks drive thru on the drive home.
